The Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law offers a limited number of research scholarships for foreign scholars. The scholarships are funded by the Max Planck Society and are intended to support research stays at the Institute. The maximum duration of a scholarship is 4 months.
Priority is given to candidates whose work may advance the research interests of the Institute. Topics readily compatible with existing fields of research at the Institute are encouraged. Information about the Institute and its Research Focus can be obtained from our website
In addition, the Visiting Fellows’ Program is aimed at the general goal of establishing and deepening contacts with representatives of foreign legal systems.
The Visiting Fellows’ Program wishes to emphasize its commitment to gender equality in academic career development and encourages applications from female candidates.
After 15 August 2015 the platform will be provisionally closed for application for the year 2016. Please note that letters of reference that are submitted by mail must also be on hand on that date. Applicants will be informed about the Institute’s decision ca. 8 – 10 weeks after the application deadline.
