Japanese Government MEXT Scholarship for 2015 Teacher-Training Students
We are pleased to announce that the Government of Japan is offering a scholarship to Pakistani teachers who wish to conduct research on school education under the Monbukagakusho (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, Government of Japan: MEXT) Scholarship Programme (Teacher-Training Students) for the fiscal year 2015. A grantee is classified as a non-degree student, but he/she will get a certificate after completing the required course at the university in Japan. This programme is not designed for those who wish to enter Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctor’s degree courses. The candidate must meet the following requirements.
Age: Applicants must be under 35 years of age as of 1st April, 2015.
(i.e. born on and after the 2nd of April 1980)
Educational Qualifications: Applicant must have graduated from a university or a teacher-training school and have worked as a teacher of an elementary school or secondary educational institute or a teachers-training school in his/her home country for at least five years in total, as of 1st April, 2015.
Individual Criteria: Applicants must be intellectually and psychologically capable of spending an eighteen month period in an international atmosphere in a society with a culture very different from that of Pakistan. Also, applicants must be willing to learn Japanese language and receive research guidance in Japanese, because many universities conduct courses only in Japanese. The Japanese language training will be provided by the University in Japan. The courses will start in October 2015.
Interested candidates are to apply directly to the Embassy of Japan in Pakistan no later than 27th February, 2015 . Incomplete applications will not be considered.
The required documents are:
A recent Curriculum Vitae (Indicating detail of educational qualification, years of teaching experience and complete contact info)
A recommendation letter from the school Principal
A (brief) statement of purpose for applying in this scholarship
The envelop must be labeled as “Japanese Government Scholarship for Teachers Training” and sent to
The Public Affairs Section,
Embassy of Japan,
Diplomatic Enclave 1, Islamabad.
Note: Only short listed candidates will be contacted for the written test at the Embassy.

Annoucemnet of Scholarship for needy and talented students

The Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan (AWKUM) has announced Scholarships which aims to elevate the socio-economic position of the needy & deserving students by providing access to quality education through “University Own Source Scholarships”.
In this regard all the department Scholarship Committee are therefore, requested to recommend the names of talented and needy students of their respective departments (on 10% quota) to the office of the Provost / Financial Aid Office.

The matter may kindly be taken on priority basis.


  • The last date of submission of application forms is February 02, 2015
  • Furthermore the departmental scholarship committees are requested to send the list of recommended students, in connection with the said scholarships, on or before February 10, 2015
  • The said scholarships will be awarded by the University on February 25, 2015 i.e. on Foundation Day of AWKUM.
